Academy Guidelines:

Players need to be dressed for soccer which includes a HSC shirt, shorts, shin guards, cleats and a SOCCER BALL.

The best of both worlds! HSC’s Academy will provide a recreational environment with a competitive flair for U8 youth players and provide top training from our experienced professional staff. The Academy director will provide a well-structured seasonal plan of training and games to promote the fundamental skills and technique necessary to evolve into a true soccer player and accomplished young athlete.

The following pillars provide the framework for developing our Academy players:

Physical - develop coordination and agility by improving motor skills while always working with the soccer ball.

Technical - ability to dribble and change direction while maintaining good control; proper techniques for passing and shooting.

Tactical - learn the game rules and how to play within the rules.

Psychological - understand communication and develop friendships while working in a team environment with team mates.

Age group offering (player must be no less than 6 or more than 7 yrs of age as of August 1, 2007):

Under 8 - $75 ($65 for returning players)

The above cost includes a uniform jersey, shorts, socks, the required player insurance and MORE!

Under 8 players will be involved in 4v4 micro-soccer. These small-sided games set the proper stage for true development. Emphasis will be placed on having fun while learning the technical skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control), which are essential for future development. These players will have an 8 game season with an end of year festival style tournament. The Youth Academy Director will provide weekly group training sessions on Tuesdays and all games will be on Thursdays. Players will be assigned to a team for the entire season and games will be coached by our parent volunteers under the supervision of the Director. Click here for Under 8 rules.

The objective of this league is to provide a fun, open, and an educational experience for young players. Parent coaches will be encouraged to participate in all staff coaching activities, which will help mentor parent coaches and enhance player experience. Parent coaches will also be provided training to enhance their knowledge of soccer and how to train young athletes.
